[Reading] March 2019 Wrap-up

As I started to review movies and books online I realized I need to dust off this blog again. One thing you will see on here now are Monthly Wrap-Ups of books I read with more detail than I'll post on Instagram and in the coming month I will also put my full reviews on here instead of Goodreads. All reviews for my March reads you will find on Goodreads though.

 This month was a good reading month in my opinion. I read 10 books and 1 comic. I only DNFed one book but that mostly because I'm not in the mood for that one at the time. I will pick it up eventually.


Not including the comic I read about 3,093 pages which averages to 99.77 pages per day. Also not including the DNFed book which was Mansfield Park by Jane Austen.

I'm a huge fan of statistics so here they are:
This doesn't include the comic! I read 6 adult books, 2 young adult, and 2 middle-grade books.
 Again, this doesn't include the comic. This time I read 7 books by different female authors, 2 books by two different male authors and one book done by authors of both these genders.
I try to always note this to remind myself to get better. Especially in terms of the race of the author. So far it hasn't worked out well but that's what a reminder is for. This chart also doesn't include the comic.
 I want to read more than just fantasy but since I love that genre it's always what I read the most again. Comic/Graphic Novel will always be included as a genre because most of them include too many genres.

Out of all the books I have read so far in my life, many of them will stay with me forever. Be it because of the story or how I came to love these books. [MOVIE REVIEW] A Garbagefire Trying to Be a Movie, or: Disney Ruining Everyone's Childhood, Again! - Artemis Fowl

Like many I waited for years to finally see Artemis Fowl as a movie. This boy, this book series that was just as much part of my growing up as Harry Potter is something near and dear to my heart and I waited patiently. I actually never thought we would get anything because for some reason it never got the hype it should have gotten in my opinion. So when I heard that it would finally become a movie I was excited. Of course that was in about 2013 when Disney acquired the rights so that should have told me enough about how horrendous this adaptation would be as it took this long to be made. The last time I was this pissed off about an adaptation was when I watched The Last Airbender (also Suicide Squad but that was a shit movie in general and I'm not too familiar with the source material unlike in the case of ATLA and Artemis Fowl) so you can imagine already what this movie was like.
